Russian heavyweight boxer, Arslanbek Makhmudov is aiming to “destroy” British top heavyweight boxers, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Arslanbek Makhmudov who is currently a 34-year-old has featured in 17 bouts without recording a defeat but most of these bouts are said to be against less popular boxers.

Makhmudov is so good that 13 of his wins came in the second round of his bouts. Only one of his 17 wins didn’t emanate from a technical knockout.

He recently told Sporting Icons that he is looking forward to fighting Joshua and Fury even though he has never faced A-list heavyweight boxers in his career.

He said, “I like the fight with Tyson Fury for sure. And Joshua I like also. I’d like to fight these guys – that’s why I’m here … Listen, when I go in the ring my goal is to destroy. It’s not a secret. It’s my goal. It’s my nature. For me, it’s not a game.”

It is no surprise that Arslanbek Makhmudov dreams of fighting two of the biggest names in heavyweight boxing, Fury and Joshua.

The two British boxers have always been targets for any man hoping to become the next big thing in the heavyweight division.

With one more fight left in his current run, two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will attempt to become the first undisputed champion in the division since Lennox Lewis. Joshua has always had that as a goal, but with three losses under his belt, he is no longer in the running for such a feat.

In addition to their shared nationality and superstar status, the fans of both men want to see them fight more frequently and against major contenders, a description that fits Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Note that on the night Fury will face Francis Ngannou in his crossover match on October 28, Makhmudov will take on Agron Smakici who has recorded 19 wins and just two defeats.
