Nigerian-born British heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua is currently training with Ben Davison, a former trainer of his rival, Tyson Fury.

Anthony Joshua’s camp manager, KD, revealed this on Sunday amid back and forth over the possibility of the Nigerian-born fighter facing Fury.

Davison was instrumental in Tyson Fury’s miraculous comeback in 2018, and he is expected to help the former two-time world heavyweight champion stay in shape ahead of a potentially busy 2024.

Davison was in charge of Fury’s physical fitness when the British boxer defeated Otto Wallin and Tom Schwarz, after their disputed draw with Deontay Wilder.

Afterward, Fury replaced Davison with SugarHill Steward, who oversaw Fury’s two victories over Wilder as well as his domestic disputes with Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora.

Even though AJ is currently training with Davison, he will continue working with his permanent trainer, Derrick James, according to his camp manager.

Recall that James who runs a gym in the United States helped Anthony Joshua to defeat Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius in 2023.

The arrangement now is that AJ will train with James whenever he is in America and continue to work with Davison whenever he is in the United Kingdom.

“Anthony Joshua wants to be very active,” KD told Boxing King Media.

“He’s currently ticking over, he’s down at the Ben Davison Performance Centre at the moment. He’s ticking over with Ben, (and) Jamie TKV – we had him in our camps in Dallas a couple of times.

“So, he’s still active. When he’s got a date, you’ll see him back out in Dallas with Derrick James continuing the work.”
