Usyk Vs Fury: Promoter Vows To Make The Undisputed Bout Happen

Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter, Alexander Krassyuk, has stressed that he has an “obligation” to ensure that his client fights Tyson Fury for an undisputed heavyweight title.

The 36-year-old undisputed champion, Oleksandr Usyk who is from Ukraine will face British fighter Daniel Dubois on Saturday to defend his WBA (Super), WBO, and IBF titles.

Usyk had to fight the mandatory challenger after his negotiations for a historic fight against Britain’s WBC champion Fury broke down earlier this year.

Following the cancellation of the proposed fight that was supposed to take place in April at Wembley Stadium in London, Fury faced criticism for his inability to reach a deal with Usyk.

However, Dubois, a 25-year-old WBA (Regular) champion, became the biggest beneficiary of the collapsed negotiations as he stands a chance of beating Usyk in Wroclaw, Poland, on Saturday, to become a heavyweight champion.

While all eyes are on the fight, Usyk’s promoter insisted that he would do everything within his power to ensure that Fury and Usyk face themselves in an undisputed bout.

“We must deliver this fight,” the promoter said.

“The whole world wants to see this fight. Not just ourselves or people involved in boxing, but the whole world.

“People who know nothing about boxing would love to see the heavyweight undisputed fight for the four belts for the first time in the four-belt era.

“I can promise you and promise all the fans around the world that I will do everything that can depend on me to make this fight happen.”

Usyk, a former undisputed cruiserweight champion and Olympic gold medalist, hasn’t lost in 20 of his professional bouts.

He won his current bouts by defeating Nigerian-born British boxer Anthony Joshua in September 2021. He won the rematch eleven months later.

Fury, 35, has won 33 bouts and drew one since becoming a professional boxer in 2008.
