Buhari's Ex-aide Reacts As Shagari Dumps PDP For APC

Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has reacted to the defection of the former Minister of Water Resources, Mukhtar Shehu Shagari, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News reports that Shagari, a former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC over the weekend.

Serving under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Shagari was a foundational PDP member in Sokoto and the country for over 25 years.

Reacting to the development in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Monday, Ahmad welcomed the former minister to the ruling party.

He wrote: “Welcoming former Deputy Governor of Sokoto state, H.E. Mukhtar Shehu Shagari, to our great party, APC. Shagari, a Minister of Water Resources during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, was a longstanding member of the PDP for over 25 years until his transition to the ruling APC.”
