Breaking: Tribunal Delivers Final Judgment On Dapo Abiodun's Election

To commemorate the annual Isese Day, the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has declared Monday, 21st August 2023, as a public holiday.

Naija News reports that the declaration was contained in a statement on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran.

Traditional religious worshippers set aside Isese Day to celebrate Yoruba culture and tradition.

The governor said his decision to give special recognition to the Isese Day celebration was to accord respect to the culture and tradition of the Ogun people and ensure the continuation of unity and harmony among the three major religions in the state.

Abiodun, while appreciating existing harmony among adherents of all religions in the state, said his commitment to support and respect all religions in the state is unwavering.

He also expressed the commitment of his administration to promote, preserve and nurture the culture and tradition of our people.

While congratulating the traditional religion worshippers on the occasion, he also urged them to celebrate with decorum and avoid acts capable of threatening the existing peace in the state.

This platform recalls that earlier other states, including Oyo, Osun and Lagos, had also declared Monday public holidays in order to commemorate the day.
