Former Liverpool player, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has completed his free transfer to Turkish side, Besiktas weeks after the Premier League club released him.

The 29-year-old former England international has signed a three-year deal with the Istanbul-based club which means that he is expected to remain at the club until June 30, 2026.

Even though injuries prevented Oxlade-Chamberlain from performing at his best at Liverpool, he managed to help the team win the Premier League title in 2020.

He had one of the worst runs in his football career when he managed to make just 13 appearances in the 2022-2023 Premier League season.

Since he joined Liverpool from Arsenal for a transfer fee worth £35 million in 2017, Oxlade-Chamberlain played 146 appearances and scored 18 goals in all competitions amidst two career-threatening knee injuries.

The last time he played for the Three Lions of England was in 2019. Before he lost his place on the team, Oxlade-Chamberlain made 35 appearances for the country.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will reportedly earn up to 10,000 euros per game, depending on his playing time, in addition to a salary of 2.5 million euros per season.

The former Southampton player signs with the Black Eagles to improve upon their third-place finish in the Turkish top division last season.

Senol Gunes’ team will kick off their domestic season on Monday night with a trip to Fatih Karagumruk in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Arrival makes him the most recent Englishman to play for Besiktas following the loan signing of Dele Alli last season.

Alli scored twice in 13 games before he was forced out of the club halfway through the season due to poor form.
