British heavyweight boxer, Tyson Fury has made a mockery of Nigerian-born British boxer, Anthony Joshua, as he noted that the former two times heavyweight champion doesn’t want to fight him.

Fury claimed that he and his management team have offered Anthony Joshua a series of money and opportunities to win titles but the Nigerian-British boxer refused to accept the offers.

Over the years, Fury and Joshua have been so close to reaching an agreement for a fight but negotiations often collapse mid-way.

In August 2020, all boxing enthusiasts were geared up for an undisputed super heavyweight bout between the British boxers but the deal collapsed.

Fury went on to take on his mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout which the Briton won.

On the other hand, Joshua went on to face Oleksandr Usyk twice, losing both fights on points to end his dominance in the world heavyweight division.

Also, in December 2022, Anthony Joshua who is currently without a world title turned down an offer to fight Tyson Fury who has been holding the WBC title since 2020.

Instead of fighting Fury, he went on to beat American boxer Jermaine Franklin on points on April 1.

While promoting his new Netflix docuseries earlier today, Tyson Fury referred to a video in which Joshua was boxing a mattress.

Fury who sounded embarrassed on Joshua’s behalf, said, “I cannot get him in the ring for any amount of money. I’ve offered him world title shots and extremely large amounts of money, but he ain’t going to make the fight.

“Me and my team, my lawyers, have concluded and accepted the fact that AJ won’t fight me for any money or any titles.

“I saw footage of him recently training by punching a mattress – I’m not sure if it was taken off TikTok or one of his social media accounts, but I’ve no idea what was going on there.”

What next for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in 2023?

Anthony Joshua is scheduled to fight 39-year-old Finnish boxer Robert Helenius on Saturday, August 12. Helenius is a late replacement for 35-year-old Dillian Whyte who had to withdraw from the bout after failing a drug test.

On the other hand, 34-year-old Fury is expected to box with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, 36, on October 28, 2023, in Saudi Arabia.
