French Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint Germain have completed the signing of Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez.

Naija News gathered that the French Ligue 1 giants paid about £34 million to complete the signing of the 27-year-old defender.

Hernandez reached the climax of world football when he helped France’s national team to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Frenchman followed that up the following season by helping Bayern Munich to win the treble in the 2019-2020 season including the UEFA Champions League and the Bundesliga.

Interestingly, Lucas Hernandez is joining PSG after helping Bayern Munich to defeat them in the UEFA Champions League final in 2020.

The France international is leaving the German Bundesliga serial winners after making 107 league appearances in which he scored two goals.

Lucas Hernandez signed a five-year deal with the French club which will keep him in Paris until June 30, 2028.

After signing the deal with his home country’s club, the France international said, “I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting to join PSG for a long time, and it’s finally happened. It’s a very special day for me and I’m very happy to be here.”

Recall that Lucas Hernandez was forced to miss the rest of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to a knee injury which he sustained in their 4-1 victory over Australia in their third group game.

In his absence, France advanced to the tournament’s final for the second time in a row, but Argentina beat them on penalties.
