Transfers: Unai Emery Poised To Lure Chukwueze To Aston Villa

The president of Villarreal, Fernando Roig, claimed that he is not aware of AC Milan’s interest in Nigeria international, Samuel Chukwueze.

This is coming after the Italian Serie A giants reportedly made a 25 million plus add-ons transfer offer for the signature of Samuel Chukwueze.

Roig admitted that Milan’s offer is significantly less than the player’s market value, but he believes that additional negotiations between the two clubs are required to try to strike a deal.

He asserted that Villarreal will discuss deals for Samuel Chukwueze if his €35 million asking price is met.

The just concluded 2022-2023 season is Samuel Chukwueze’s best season at Villarreal as he scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions.

His performance has brought him into contact with Real Madrid and AC Milan, but latest speculations proved that the Italian Serie A giants are his most serious suitors.

“I don’t know if Milan is interested in the player (Chukwueze)”, Roig told AS.

“But if the interest is the same as when they came for Mateo Musacchio. On that occasion Galliani came and said ‘I want the player, but I have no money’, then we ate fideuà (a local dish) and went home.

“We are making the movements that the market allows us. The premise is to have a better team than last year. I am happy with the situation.”

Meanwhile, Chukwueze’s passport situation, according to reports in Italy, may prevent him from joining AC Milan this summer.

Reports claimed that Chelsea midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek who joined AC Milan this summer has taken the club’s last non-EU position in the team since he doesn’t have a Non-EU passport after Brexit.

Daichi Kamada, who would likewise play in a non-EU position, has not yet signed a contract despite having officially agreed to join Milan this summer.
