APC Reacts As NNPP’s Yusuf Emerges Kano Governor-Elect
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state said it is carefully studying the results of Kano governorship election and will soon make its position known.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday declared Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as the winner of the Kano governorship contest with over one million votes.
Yusuf defeated the incumbent Deputy Governor and APC flagbearer, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, who polled over 890,000 votes.
But in a statement on Monday by the Spokesperson of Gawuna-Garo Campaign Council, Muhammad Garba, said the party will take a decision on the matter soon.
Garba, who is the Kano Commissioner for Information, called for calm from their supporters.

Women residing in Kano State have claimed responsibility for the defeat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s governorship election.
According to Daily Trust, the women bragged that they are the core power that brought about the downfall of the ruling APC in the just concluded governorship election.
