2023 Elections: Top 10 States With Highest Number Of Voters
Lagos State appeared to have the highest number of registered voters in the 2023 general elections, Naija News understands.
Based on Data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Lagos State has 7.06 million registered voters, coming first in the top 10 states with the highest number of registered voters.
Kano State followed the lead with 5.92 million registered voters, with Kaduna State coming third with 4.33 million.
River State has 3.5 million registered voters; Katsina has 3.51 million; Oyo, 3.27 million; Delta, 3.22; Plateau, 2.78 million; Benue, 2.77 million; and Bauchi, the 10th state in the list, has 2.74 million total registered voters.
They Have Concluded Plans To Wreck Havoc – Nigerian Police Makes Announcement
Meanwhile, the Lagos Police Command has said that some individuals have ongoing plans to cause post-election violence in the state.
According to the Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, some people have plans to cause trouble and wreak havoc.
Hundeyin issued the alert on Sunday. He said, “Available intel suggests some people have concluded plans to foment trouble & wreak havoc.”
The spokesperson warned that such attempts would be “crushed decisively”.
“Our election security architecture has not been drawn down. Anarchy will not be allowed,” he stressed.
Naija News understands that violence occurred in different parts of Lagos during Saturday’s elections as thugs disrupted voting, destroying election materials.
