Some gunmen suspected to be political thugs on Saturday invaded a polling unit in the Green House, University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State shooting sporadically to chase away voters during the presidential and National Assembly elections.

Naija News gathered that the gunmen invaded the university community as the voting was about to commerce.

According to eyewitnesses, they started shooting sporadically, chasing voters who scampered for safety as they flee from the polling unit.

Multiple sources in the community revealed that the gunmen after they were done shooting, destroyed the ballot papers and other electoral materials in the unit.

At the time of filing this report, voting has not commenced in the affected polling unit.
