Some Nigerian Roads No Longer Have Potholes But Boreholes - Umahi

As part of efforts to ensure perfect security and safe conduct of Saturday’s election, the federal government has deployed a helicopter to provide aerial surveillance in Ebonyi State.

This was confirmed to newsmen in Abakaliki by the state governor, David Umahi on Friday.

He explained that the government took the step to complement security measures already put in place in the state, curb bandits who may want to launch any form of attack and therefore urged residents not to panic.

“We got a surprise package from our security chiefs in Abuja aimed at having free, fair and credible elections in Ebonyi. The aircraft has already landed at our Ebonyi International Airport.

“Its mission is to secure our lives and bolster the confidence of voters so that threats by bandits will not see the light of day,” he said.

No Phones In Cubicles

The Independent National Electoral Commission has warned voters not to take in photographic device or mobile device inside the voting cubicle when casting their votes.

The National Commissioner and Chairman of INEC Voter Education and Publicity Committee, Barrister Festus Okoye, made this known during a news programme on Channels Television.

He said anyone caught will be jailed upon prosecution.
