Keyamo Defends Claim That Appointment Of Ministers Of State Is Unconstitutional

The Chief Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress President Campaign Council (APC PCC) has mocked the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, over his comment at the party’s campaign rally in Kano State.

Naija News reported that Ayu, while speaking during the rally held at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Thursday, erroneously said PDP has brought shame to Nigeria.

Ayu, however, corrected himself seconds after committing the blunder and said APC, but not before it was captured on video.

Reacting to the development in a tweet via his verified Twitter account on Friday, Keyamo stated that the opposition party has indeed brought shame to us as a nation.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment said the PDP brought disgrace on the nation, especially with the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) revelations.

The APC chieftain, however, commended Ayu for remaining true to his conscience and convictions with the statement.

He wrote: “Thank you sir, for remaining true to your conscience and convictions. PDP has indeed brought shame to us as a nation, especially with the SPV revelations.”

Keyamo’s reaction comes follows the statement by theAPC PCC that Atu’s comment a comment is the reality and not a slip of the tongue.

In a statement on Friday, the council’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, said the comment was self-admission that his party failed Nigerians when it was in power for 16 years.

Onanuga said the APC has been struggling to fix the problems created by the opposition party, adding that Nigerians must not make the mistake of allowing the PDP to get into power again.
