Court Takes Fresh Action On Ayu's Suspension As PDP Chairman

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu on Thursday suffered a gaffe during his party’s presidential campaign rally in Kano State.

Naija News reports Ayu while speaking during the rally held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, erroneously said PDP has brought shame to Nigeria.

He however corrected himself seconds after committing the blunder and said APC but not before it was captured on video.

Ayu said: “We are supposed to be the leaders in Africa and everywhere in the world, we should be respected. PDP has brought us shame and we will not continue to retain them in power… APC.”

The video has been widely circulated on social media.

Atiku Will Develop Nigeria

Speaking further during the rally, Ayu charged Nigerians to vote for the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar so the nation can grow and develop.

He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) has nothing to offer but lies.

“They are full of lies. They have nothing to offer the ‘talakas’ (poor) in Nigeria. We will come back. Our president, Atiku Abubakar, who you will vote to power in the next few weeks, we will rally around him. We will discuss our policies, and we will see where it is affecting you. We will make sure we implement a successful policy that will bring back Nigeria to its glory,” Ayu said.

He charged supporters to vote for candidates of the party across all levels, not only the presidential candidate.

“Vote for PDP from top to bottom, from bottom to top; Atiku Abubakar as president,” Ayu said.
