Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, professionally known as Psquare, has been accused of making bigoted tribal statement after staking ten million.

This comes after over twenty thousand Nigerians signed a petition against popular singer and actor Olawale Ibrahim Ashimi, better known as Brymo, over his incessant anti-Igbo remarks.

Brymo, in a series of tweets, had asserted that he is not sorry for his comments on the chances of an easterner becoming president of the country.

The singer had come under fire for his stance against the Igbos and stating that an Igbo presidency would only be a “pipe dream” due to the agitation for Biafra.

Disappointed by the singer’s comments, Paul Okoye slammed Brymo, saying that the elections will come and go, but insulting a particular region in Nigeria was unacceptable.

He wrote: “Mind what you are preaching.. election will come and go, we all will move on.. But you decided to be a tribal bigot because you think you are getting some attention by insulting a particular region of Nigeria and some people are praising you. as an artiste i’m only disappoint.”

Some netizens, angered at the petition against Brymo over his anti-Igbo remarks, accused the singing twins of been guilty of bigoted statement against other tribes.

In his words: “With 10 million Naira! I challenge any one to screenshot a tweet where me or my twin insulted a whole region or tribe or even spot any ethnic bigotry statement. We are campaigning strongly for our Candidate without insulting any other candidate. Let’s call a spade a spade!”
