The talisman of Brentford, Ivan Toney might be available for the Premier League game against Liverpool scheduled to kick off at 18:30 on January 2.

Brentford defeated West Ham 2-0 on Friday, but Ivan Toney, 26, had to be helped off the field after fracturing his knee.

Toney had earlier scored the opening goal for the Bees at London Stadium, his 12th of the year, and assisted on the second before he sustained the injury.

Immediately after the game, the speculation was that the embattled English football star would miss the Premier League game against Liverpool on Monday due to the injury.

Fortunately for Brentford’s fans who would want to see Toney in action at the Gtech Community Stadium, the coach of the club, Thomas Frank has confirmed that Ivan Toney’s injury is not as imagined.

The coach said ahead of the Brentford Vs Liverpool clash: “It’s good news. There’s nothing wrong with his knee. He could potentially be available for tomorrow.”

While Toney might be available for the Premier League game on Monday evening, Brentford will certainly not enjoy the availability of injured defenders Aaron Hickey and Kristoffer Ajer.

Currently, 10th-placed Brentford are enjoying a five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League and they will hope to build on that against Liverpool on Monday evening.
