Ivan Toney of Brentford has been accused of breaking 30 more betting laws, according to the English Football Association on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Before now, the English FA had accused Ivan Toney of violating betting regulations 232 times in November 2022.

When it was first made public that the English striker allegedly breached a series of betting rules, his current club, Brentford said: “The club has been in discussion with Ivan and his legal representatives. Those conversations will continue privately.

“We will make no further comment until the matter has been completed.”

As it stands, Ivan Toney has until Wednesday, January 4, 2023, to reply to the fresh FA misconduct allegations regarding alleged violations of FA rule E8, which forbids players from communicating confidential information to betting outlets or placing bets on football games.

If he is found guilty, Toney might be subject to a protracted suspension.

Recall that in December 2020, England defender Kieran Trippier received a 10-week suspension from the FA for providing information to enable others to wager on his transfer from Tottenham to Atletico Madrid.

Joey Barton, a Burnley player at the time, was given an 18-month suspension in 2017 that was later reduced to 13 months after an appeal. He had admitted to placing 1,260 bets on football over ten years.

Toney stated earlier this month, following the initial reporting of the charges, that he was “assisting the Football Association with their inquiries”.

Toney, 26, has scored 10 Premier League goals in the 2022-2023 season but was not selected for the England World Cup team despite his impressive goal-scoring.
