APC Holds Solidarity Rally For Tinubu In USA

The Katsina State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reportedly recorded a massive membership loss this week as politicians loyal to the party announced their defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News learnt from the report on Wednesday evening that hundreds of PDP supporters from the Mashi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state defected to the APC today.

While addressing reporters in Katsina today, the Director, Media and Publicity, APC Campaign Council, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, explained that the defectors were received by the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Sani Daura, during the campaign tour of the state’s governorship candidate, Dr Dikko Radda.

Naija News understands that on Wednesday, Radda commenced his campaign tour from Ɓaure in Katsina North Senatorial District, President Muhammadu Buhari’s constituency, shortly after flagging off the campaign in Faskari, which is in Katsina South Senatorial District.

“So far, the APC governorship candidate has visited six out of the 12 LGAs in Katsina North Senatorial District. He has visited over 60 wards in the six areas.

“In Daura, he visited Buhari and told him that the visit was to see for himself the situation people were in with a view to getting first-hand information on where his attention would be needed when he became governor,” Abdulkadir noted.

He added that President Buhari commended Radda for his effort and expressed confidence that he would win the election.

Just Be Renting Halls For Campaigns – Bashir Ahmad Mocks Peter Obi’s Labour Party Again

Meanwhile, on Wednesday (today, the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, took a swipe at the Labour Party (LP) again over the sparse number of people at its recent presidential campaign rally.

Taking to his Twitter handle earlier, Ahmad, who is also the Deputy Director, Special Media Projects/New Media of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), mocked the Labour Party.

He said the party should stick to renting halls for its rallies instead of using big spaces for its presidential campaigns.

The presidential media aide described the Kogi rally as an ultimate embarrassment. He wrote: “Advisably, Labour Party should stick to renting halls for their state presidential rallies. The wider video I just saw from their rally yesterday in Lokoja, Kogi, habibi, that was an ultimate embarrassment.”

Naija News reports that he spoke against the background of poor attendance at the presidential campaign rally by the Labour Party in Kogi State, which recorded a low turnout.

The party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, were in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, on Tuesday for a presidential campaign concerning the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Photos taken from the rally showed empty seats from the stadium used. A development that has attracted comments from the opposition parties.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ahmad had also noted that the unsuccessful rally confirmed that Nigerian voters have completely rejected the former Governor of Anambra State.

He further described the rally as an embarrassing turnout adding that the event can be mistaken for a local naming ceremony.
