BREAKING: Seven Worshippers Killed As Bandits Attack Kaduna Mosque

Twenty-one children kidnapped by terrorist bandits while working on a farm in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State have regained their freedom.

Naija News reports that terrorists, on October 30, abducted the children comprising 17 females and four males during an invasion of Mairuwa community in Katsina.

The gunmen were said to have surrounded the farm and started shooting sporadically before abducting the workers to an unknown destination.

In a chat with reporters on Saturday, the Katsina Police spokesperson, Gambo Isah, confirmed the children’s freedom, adding that they have been reunited with their families.

Isah added that an investigation is ongoing to unravel the reason for the kidnap of the workers.

He said: “It is with great joy that I announce the release of all the 21 abducted workers that were kidnapped while working in farmland at Kamfanin Mai Lafiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state. They have been reunited with their families. An investigation is ongoing, please.

“According to what we have gathered, they were working on somebody’s farm and they were not the only persons working on the farm, there were other workers working on other farms but what we learned is that the terrorist requested money, a kind of levy that owners of farms are to pay to them as compensation or ransom.

“What we learned is that the owner of that particular farm refused to comply with the demand of the terrorists, but unfortunately they went and kidnapped the workers on this farm because he has not paid the levy.”
