Anambra: Peter Obi Congratulates Soludo On His Victory

As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary draws near, a frontline aspirant, Peter Obi has resigned from the party.

What has drawn massive media attention has been the ambition of the former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi and his chances of grabbing the presidential ticket of the main opposition.

Peter Obi, who many see as unwilling to dole out huge cash to sway PDP delegates to his side, may be sidelined and outmuscled by others willing to dole out dollars.

Speculations had emerged claiming that the former banker has concluded plans to dump the PDP for a yet to be announced political party.

Naija News gathered that Peter Obi on Wednesday tendered his resignation letter at the PDP National Secretariat, through his campaign director, Doyin Okupe.

According to the report, Obi’s exit came as the politician expressed fears he might be humiliated at the convention in Abuja.

He allegedly told Peoples Gazette that he caught wind of a gang up against him.

Efforts to reach Peter Obi were unsuccessful as the former governor did not pick up calls to his phone.

But speaking to Naija News, Peter Obi’s Media Aide, Emeka Obasi, described the report as speculations.

He stated that as the PDP primaries draws near many speculations are expected to emerged.

Obasi stated that the former Anambra governor and his team are still actively preparing for the opposition party’s presidential primary.

Asked if Peter Obi plans to dump the PDP if he loses the ticket, Obasi said his principal his always strategizing.

He however told Naija News that Peter Obi keeps such plans close to his chest and will reveal his plan to the media at the appropriate time.
