Why Request To Declare State Of Emergency In South East Won't Achieve Anything - Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to a video of some Niger Delta militants backing the presidential ambition of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

Naija News earlier reported that the militants had promised to drop their arms if the All Progressive Congress, APC, gives its 2023 presidential ticket to Emefiele.

The militants, in a barely three minutes video clip, said though the group doesn’t have any affiliation with Emefiele, it observed that the economist will do better in governance than other aspirants in the APC.

According to the group, it is important to state clearly that they are not a force against the federal government, nor a separatist movement.

The militants added that they have decided to join the political process as they are already tired of the recycled politicians in the system.

They reiterated that they have ran a background check and found out that Emefiele is not a politician but would be a man of his word.

Reacting to the development on Friday, Omokri stated that the video was recorded by the enemies of the apex bank governor, who were waiting for him to buy the APC presidential form.

The controversial writer said it is no coincidence that the video was released on the day Emefiele joined the presidential race and obtained his form.

He wrote on his Twitter page: “The video by so-called Niger Delta militants was recorded a while ago by Emefiele’s enemies, who were waiting for him or his friends to buy the APC nomination form. It is no coincidence that the video was released today. Believe them and you will believe ANYTHING!
