The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi on Wednesday insisted that the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni remains the caretaker chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

Umahi while speaking with some party member over his sack by an Abuja court on Tuesday, said the Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello is only acting till Buni returns from his medical trip.

The Ebonyi State Governor disclosed this at Udusi Roundabout in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Wednesday.

APC members, I want to thank them, and let me tell you that there is no division in APC.

“The National Chairman went on medical leave and we were there when he asked the governor of Niger state to act for him.

“If there will be any change, you will be notified, but for now, there is none and there is no crack in the party”

Meanwhile, the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai on his part on Wednesday said Buni is not returning as the caretaker chairman of the ruling party.

He further stated that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered his removal, with 19 governors elected on the party’s platform supporting the decision.
