Ogun ritual suspect

The Ogun State Police Command, on Monday, stated that it is working on arresting the social media user who posted the ritual video on Facebook from where the four teenagers learnt the money ritual.

The spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a chat with Punch.

Oyeyemi stated that the command is working on apprehending the people that are directly or indirectly involved in the killing of Sofiat Kehinde.

Recall that four teenagers in Ogun gruesomely murdered Sofiat and severed her head for a money ritual.

The development attracted reactions across the country considering the ages of the perpetrators.

The state police command arrested four teenage suspects; Soliu Majekodunmi, 18; Wariz Oladehinde, 18; Abdulgafar Lukman, 19; and Balogun Mustaqeem, 20.

One of the suspects, Mustaqeem, in a confession at the police command, had said, “I saw a post on Facebook that explained how to get rich quickly. I downloaded the video because I had an interest in getting wealthy at an early stage.

“I wanted to get rich and lead a luxurious life. The video was what prompted me to tell Soliu about getting rich quickly at an early age. He was interested after I showed him the video on my phone and asked where we would get the materials we needed.”

The spokesman when asked if the Facebook user had been arrested said, “The suspects said they saw the video on Facebook. We are working to arrest them (the social media user).”
