APC Chieftain, Jamil Gwamna Dumps Party

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Jamil Gwamna has renounced his membership of the ruling party.

Naija News understands that the APC chieftain made his decision known in a later he addressed to the party chairman in Jekadafari ward in Gombe State.

Though the Sardaunan Gombe did not disclose the party he is joining, he thanked the APC for the support, privileges he enjoyed and wished the platform well.

According to the politician, he dumped the ruling party after a series of consultations with family members and political associates.

Gwamna’s letter dated February 1, 2022, read: “I write, with all sense of humility and respect, to notify you of my decision to resign from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

“I decided after wide consultations with my family, political associates, and my supporters.”

Naija News understands Gwmana is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).

He was also one of Gombe PDP governorship aspirants during the 2019 political season.

There are assertions that the politician is returning to the opposition party to seek its 2023 ticket.

Meanwhile, Yobe State chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC has received no fewer than three thousand defectors from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors, Naija News understands are all from the Fika Local Government Area area of the state.

The politicians were received into the broom party on Tuesday by APC Chairman-elect in the state, Mohammed Gadaka.

The welcome ceremony for the new entrants was reportedly held in Fika town and attracted political gladiators as well as other critical stakeholders from Yobe South.

Speaking at the event, Gadaka applauded the defectors for the decision, assured them of equal reception as well as old members of the party.

The party chairman said APC’s doors are always open to receive defectors from opposition parties in the state.

Giving their reasons for dumping their former camp, the defectors said they were attracted to join APC due to Governor Mai Mala Buni’s visionary leadership which has translated into executing people-oriented projects for the betterment of the state.
