Tinubu’s WAEC Fees Promise Disqualifies His 2023 Presidential Bid – Says PDP Chieftain

2023: Reactions As Tinubu Picks APC Presidential Form

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Shehu Madaki, has slammed former Governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over his recent declaration ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Naija News reports that a video of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) promising to pay the WAEC fees of all Nigerian students if he becomes president, went viral on Wednesday.

Tinubu was captured in the viral video clip making a series of promises to Nigerians while addressing a group of women from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reacting to Tinubu’s comment, Madaki said the APC leader’s focus is a missed priority.

According to him, he was wrong to have prioritized WAEC fees over the ravaging security challenges, poverty and lack currently facing the country.

Madaki maintained that Tinubu does not know the problem facing the people and concludes such a person is not fit to be the president of Nigeria, Naija News reports.

He said: “I wonder how Tinubu concluded that the problem of Nigerians is how to pay WAEC fees.

“How would you sit down in an examination hall comfortably in this present Nigeria when insecurity, kidnapping, killing are all over the place?” He queried.

The Kaduna State politician said it is only when people are comfortable, can sleep with their two eyes closed, and can feed three times a day, that there would be time to think of education.

He stressed that Tinubu’s promise was enough to disqualify him from becoming Nigeria’s president in 2023.

He urged the APC to think of a well-informed party member that can convince Nigerians, especially the poor, that its flagbearer knows their immediate needs.
