SSA To Buhari On Media And Publicity - Garba Shehu

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has released an update on his COVID-19 infection.

The top government official and some other persons in the Presidential Villa, Abuja were earlier in the week confirmed positive with the dreaded coronavirus disease, Naija News recalls.

Other officials reportedly affected by the virus include the permanent secretary in the State House, Tijani Umar; the President’s Aide-de-camp (ADC), Yusuf Dodo; his chief security officer (CSO), Aliyu Musa and the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, among others.

Giving an update on his status in a post on social media on Wednesday, Garba Shehu said he is now healed of the viral infection.

Thanking God for his speedy recovery from the virus, Shehu prayed for the recovery of other Nigerians who are still afflicted with the virus.

He wrote, “I thank Almighty Allah for my speedy recovery from COVID-19.

“My prayers and deepest respect are for all of you, who called or texted expressing your concerns for me.

“May all of our countrymen and women still afflicted with the virus fight this scourge with all their might and get well soon.”

Meanwhile, the Presidential Villa, Abuja has now been deserted following the recent COVID-19 update from the highly esteemed resident of top government officials.

Activities at the Aso Rock Villa have also been reportedly shut down following the outbreak of COVID-19, Naija News learnt.

According to sources, the spread of COVID-19 infections at the Aso Villa can be traced to the installation ceremony of Yusuf Buhari, President Buhari’s son, as a district head (Taliban Daura) in Katsina.

One source revealed that most of those that have tested positive for the virus are too close to Buhari, hence the need to monitor the president’s health.

Aso Rock has now been deserted over the number of President Buhari’s aides that have contracted COVID-19. Currently, President Buhari is being monitored by health officials. Plans for the President to go to Katsina have been stepped down for now.

The recent spread of the virus at the Aso Rock according to reports was traced to Buhari’s son, Yusuf’s coronation ceremony in Katsina.
