Drama As Another Candidate Emerges Winner In APC Parallel Primary For Edo Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee has screened and cleared all the 14 Anambra State governorship aspirants.

Naija News reports that the APC is set to hold its primary for the election on the 26 of July 2021.

The committee on Thursday submitted its report to the Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, on behalf of the National Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Akpanudoedehe said: “I received this report on behalf of the National Chairman of the Party in good faith. The report will be sent to the National Chairman immediately.

“The National Chairman is with the President in Borno State, I am sure you are aware of that. By what you have done, you have removed the need for an Appeal Committee. We are indeed very grateful to the committee for serving the party in the screening exercise.”

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Ikechi Emenike, said all aspirants are qualified, hence the decision to clear them.

“We approached this work with the spirit of patriotism, transparency and with an open heart in line with provisions of the Nigerian constitution and the party’s guidelines for the nomination of candidates.

“Politics is a contest, as long as they are qualified, let them go to the field,” he said.

The 14 aspirants were Sen. Andy Uba; Mr. Nwokafor Daniel; Dr. George Moghalu; Hon. Paul Izuchukwuorajiaka; Mr. Edozie Madu; Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo; Mr. Maxwell Okoye; Col. Geoff Onyejegbu; Hon. Azuka Okwuosa; Mr. Onwa Mokelu; Mr. Igwebuike Ifeanyi Hygers; Rev. Godwin Okonkwo; Mr. Beneth Etiaba and Mr. Onunkwo Obinna
