You Will Be In Trouble - Wike Threatens Rivers Politicians Ahead Of 2023 Election

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has again accused the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, of treating Edo people as fools.

Wike, who is the chairman, National Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Edo governorship election, stated this in an interview with AIT.

Naija News reports that Governor Godwin Obaseki will be challenged for the Edo State Government House by APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the September 19 election.

Asked if he thinks Edo people will listen to Oshiomhole and vote Ize-Iyamu, Wike said this is an opportunity for every Edo indigene to say that they cannot take this nonsense again from the former APC chairman.

The Rivers governor stated that Oshiomhole who kicked against the emergence of Ize-Iyamu as governor in 2016 can not make a u-turn and back the same man.

Wike said: “Remember that the people are not fools. He said that he did not want Ize-Iyamu to have access to funds because he did not trust him.

“Is it the same man that he didn’t trust with funds that he wants to entrust with the management of the state? Things are not done that way.

“This is an opportunity for every Edo son and daughter, even those in the Diaspora to come back home and say that they cannot take this nonsense again from this man.”

He said Oshiomhole was treating Edo people as though they are fools by presenting someone he said was an armed robber and a fake pastor.

“It does not matter even if you don’t like Obaseki’s face. The issue is not about Obaseki, PDP or APC, it is the issue of one man waking up to treat Edo people as though they are fools, presenting someone he said was an armed robber, fake pastor, someone who poured acid on another student, as a governorship candidate.

“It is the height of insult, even the god of Benin people will not allow that. It is not a question of party; it is the issue of the fact that Edo people must be respected,” Wike said.
