BREAKING: NCDC Confirms Cases Of Omicron Variant In Nigeria

The Kano State government has disagreed with the data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, (NCDC) which said the state recorded 5 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday.

Rather, the state government clarified that the cases reported by the NCDC on Thursday actually happened on Wednesday but were not captured in the NCDC’s report for the day.

Naija News reports the NCDC on Thursday said Nigeria recorded 35 new cases of persons confirmed positive for COVID-19, with 5 of the cases reported in Kano.

However, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, the media aide to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, said the confirmed cases mentioned by NCDC were those from Wednesday’s report.

He added that the total number of cases in Kano still stands at 21 and no new case was confirmed on Thursday.

“Its worthy to mention that the five cases reported for Kano on Thursday are part of the 21 total confirmed cases as of yesterday.

“The NCDC omitted it in their updates on Wednesday. As of today, no new case in Kano. May it stay that way,” he wrote on Twitter.
