Wife Takes Husband To Court For Dropping N300 Daily For Her And Three Kids

After being patient for a long time, a housewife has finally dragged her husband to court for always maltreating her and their three children, giving them a token to feed on every day while he goes out to eat what he likes.

Naija News understands that Mrs. Munira Muhammad had reported before a Sharia Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, that her husband, Lawal Ibrahim, has always been dropping N300 daily for her and their three kids to feed on while eats better food outside.

Munira who based within Kaduna metropolis, on Wednesday, narrates to the Sharia court that her husband, Ibrahim occasionally gave one measure of grind maize and millet to her and the children.

“N300 can’t sustain me and my three children,” Munira cried out and prayed the court to split their marriage.

She said, “He has been given several opportunities by the court to make an adjustment but has refused to do so. I am praying the court to terminate the marriage.”

Responding to the allegation, Ibrahim who is a commercial tricycle operator, said that he loved his wife and that the N300 he gave her daily for their upkeep was enough for them.

Ibrahim prayed the court to grant him more time to explore ways of settlement with his wife.

The Sharia court Judge, Murtala Nasir, after listening to both parties, admonished the defendant to look into the need to always give his family fair treatments, in accordance with the teachings of his religion.

He said, “You give four souls N300 daily to feed, while you go out and eat what you desire. You have to change and desire for your family what you desire for yourself.”

Murtala, however, adjourned the case to February 3rd for the defendant to make adjustments and report back to court.

Meanwhile, Naija News had reported earlier that Katsina State Police has arrested a young married woman for allegedly stabbing her husband to death for reason unknown.

According to the report which has been affirmed by the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah, the teenage woman murdered her husband using a sharp knife on Monday morning.
