A Kano State high court has declared the appointment and the installation of four new emirs by the Kano state government led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as “null and void.” A report monitored on The Guardian by Naija News, says the ordered a return to status quo pending the hearing of the suit against the appointment of the emirs.
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has told the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to formally file an application asking the President of the Court of Appeal and chairman of the five-man panel, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, to withdraw. The tribunal gave the directive on Wednesday following the meeting the panel members held with lawyers appearing in the case.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) noting that they not committed to true federalism but just paying lip service to it. Naija News understands that this is as the President, recently said that his administration is committed to true federalism.

In respect to the tussle for the leadership of the Ninth National Assembly, the All Progressives Congress in Abia State has denied the report that it endorsed the candidature of Femi Gbajabiamila for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives. The party stated that it only supports the candidature of Orji Uzor Kalu for Deputy Senate President and Nkeiruka Onyejeocha for speakership position.
