1. Court orders arrest of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu

The immediate arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has been ordered by an Abuja division of the Federal High Court.

Justice Binta Nyako-led court gave the order on Thursday while also revoking the bail she granted Kanu in 2017 and directed that the proceedings of the trial will still continue even in the IPOB leader’s absence.

2. Buhari is not an orator – Vice President Osinbajo

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed that his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari is not an orator.

Naija News learnt that the vice president who made the revelation while speaking at the 11th Bola Tinubu Colloquium in Abuja earlier on Thursday, also said the president is more interested in getting things done.

3. President Buhari launches micro-pension scheme

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja said the dignity of public servants, who worked tirelessly and sacrificed for the greatness of Nigeria, will be restored, assuring that the Federal Government will rev up the process of sanitizing the pensions system.

Speaking at the launch of Micro Pension Plan, organized by National Pension Commission at the State House Conference Centre, President Buhari said retired public servants deserved better treatment and effective service that meets their needs to carry on after retirement, promising to remove the “rot within the pension system’’.

4. Adamawa Governorship Rerun: APC agents absent at polling units

Agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State where visibly absent at polling units on Thursday for the supplementary election in Adamawa State.

A visit to some of the polling units in the state revealed the absence of APC agents in the supplementary governorship election organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

5. Tinubu urges FG to shelf plans to increase VAT

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has asked the federal government to halt the planned increase in Value Added Tax(VAT).

He said it will amount to taxing ordinary men in the country.

6. APC reveals why Amaechi can’t be suspended for anti-party activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, supporting the African Action Congress (AAC) in the Rivers governorship election, cannot be described as anti-party.

The spokesperson of the party, Lanre Isa-Onilu, made this known while speaking to newsmen on Wednesday.

7. Why politicians should emulate Saraki – INEC

Politicians have been advised to emulate the political maturity of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

The advice was given by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC through its National Commissioner, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna, yesterday while stressing that politicians should emulate Saraki’s calmness in accepting defeat.

8. Ex-Kogi Governor’s son vows to unseat Yahaya Bello

Mustapha Audu, and the son of former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, has declared his intention to contest for the governorship election in the state.

Speaking at his declaration ceremony on Wednesday in Lokoja, Mustapha said he has come to rescue Kogi people from hunger and starvation.

9. INEC declares PDP’s Fintiri winner of Adamawa rerun

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Umar Ahmadu Fintiri, winner of the Adamawa state 2019 governorship election.

Naija News reports the state Returning Officer, Professor Andrew Haruna, made the announcement at the INEC office in Yola early Friday morning, March 29.

10. Manchester United appoint Solskjaer as full manager

Manchester United on Thursday confirmed that they have appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer full-time manager on a three-year contract.

“From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this special club,” Solskjaer told Manchester United website.
