Incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari has shocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, by defeating its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar at his polling unit. Naija News reports that President Buhari is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

2. PDP’s Atiku Defeats APC’s Buhari Inside Aso Rock

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, Atiku Abubakar, has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari at one of the polling units inside Aso Rock, Nigeria’s presidential villa located in Abuja, the nation’s capital. Naija News reports that President Buhari is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

3. Peter Obi Wins Polling Unit With 258 Votes, APC Gets 1 vote

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, Peter Obi, has won his polling unit. PDP won in PU 019, Umudimakasi Square, Agulu, Anambra where Obi voted with two hundred and fifty-eight (258) votes while, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party polled just one (1) vote.

A video has emerged online, showing the moment President Muhammadu Buhari spied the ballot paper of his wife and Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Although it is unclear what the intention of the President was, Naija News, however, reports that political analysts suggest the President was cross-checking his wife’s ballot Paper on Saturday morning to see who she voted for.

5. Popular Photographer Shot Dead In Bayelsa

A popular photographer of the Bayelsa State Government House, Reginald Dei have been shot dead. Naija News reports that the government’s photographer was shot dead alongside a Ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Seidougha Taribi.

6. Political Thuggery: Army Kills 6 Assailants, Loses Officer in Rivers State

Troops of 6 Division on election duty were attacked by suspected hoodlums in Abonnema, Akuku Toru Local Government Area (LGA) Rivers State, Naija News understands. According to information from the headquarters Nigerian Army (NA), the pre-planned attack occurred in between Charles and Bob-Manuel’s compounds in Abonnema Town at about 1:00 pm on the 23rd February 2019.

The Department of State Security (DSS) has reacted to the news making the rounds that former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki, has died at their detention facility. News about Dasuki death had flooded various social media platforms on the election’s day in Nigeria.

8. Buhari Wins Atiku At Benue Government House Polling Unit

President Muhammadu Buhari has emerged as the winner of the Benue government house polling unit, in Makurdi as the coalition for the February 23 Presidential election results begins. The All Progressives Congress (APC) got 125 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 122 votes at the polling unit.

9. Nigerian Celebrities Seen At Varoius Polling Unit Across Country

As Nigeria sets to pick their new leaders, several Nigeria celebrities were seen at the various polling unit of the country. The disappointment of having the general elections postponed seem like a distant memory for celebrities who now have an opportunity to cast their votes.It has seemed like a long wait after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), shifted the polls from February 16 to 23, for presidential and federal parliamentary elections.

10. #NigeriaDecides2019: Tinubu Reveals What He Would Do After Election Results Are Announced

Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who cast his vote today at Polling Unit 047, Ward 3, Ikeja at 11:20 am has revealed what he would do when the results of the election are announced. Tinubu, who spoke with journalists after voting, said that he would accept the result of the presidential election even if it did not go the way of the party.
