The preferred governorship candidate of Governor Ibikunle Amosun for the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state, Abiodun Akinlade, has just dumped the APC for another party.

Akinlade, who represents Egbado south and Ipokia federal constituency of Ogun state in the National assembly, dumped the APC for the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

The defection was announced on the floor of the House of Representatives during plenary on Thursday.

There were also defections for three other members of the green chamber on Thursday as Rabiu Kaugama from Jigawa state moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Salisu Koko from Kebbi state also joined APC from SDP while Mohammed Ajanah from Kogi state defected from APC to PDP.

Naija News recalls Dapo Abiodun was endorsed by the NWC of the APC as the party candidate for Ogun state in 2019 despite several efforts by Governor Amosun to ensure Akinlade gets the gubernatorial ticket.
