APC Shifts Date Of Primaries Because Of Osun Elections

Again, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted its presidential primary election from September 27 to Friday, September 28.

This makes it the second time in 24 hours the party has had to reschedule.

Naija News reports that on Sunday, September 23, 2018, the party announced that the primary, earlier scheduled for September 25 would hold on September 27.

However, barely 24 hours after, the party’s national spokesperson, Yekini Nabena, announced a new date.

Nebena, via his Twitter handle, @ynabena, said the party election was again rescheduled because of the Osun State rerun election slated for September 27.

“In view of the Osun State Governorship rerun election which has been scheduled for Thursday, September 27th, 2018, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC) has now rescheduled the presidential primary election to Friday, September 28th, 2018.

“This is to avoid a clash in dates with the Osun State Governorship rerun election and enable all registered Party members in all thirty-six states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) participate in the exercise.” the tweet read.
