Payment Of Half Salary Is Inhumanity – Adeleke

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, stated that it is inhuman to owe workers and pensioners their salary, he also promised to stop the payment of half salaries and pensions if he wins the election.

Adeleke in a statement through the Director of Publicity, Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation, Mr Rasheed Olawale, said this on Sunday at the All Souls Anglican Church, Osogbo, Naija News learnt.

Other governorship candidates, Pade Okunola, of the Accord Party, and Mr Femi Kehinde, of the All Grassroots Alliance, also condemned the irregular payment of salaries in the state.

Mr Okunola stated this while unveiling his deputy governorship aspirant at the State party secretariat of the Accord Party in Osogbo.

The AP candidate spoke on Sunday while inaugurating a retired secondary school principal, Alhaji Kayode Jimoh, as his running mate while Kehinde spoke on Saturday at the unveiling of AGA’s candidate at the party secretariat.

Adeleke said, “Payment of half salaries and pensions is man inhumanity to man and by the grace of God; I will put an end to it in Osun State,

“My government will ensure regular payment of workers’ salaries and pensioners’ entitlements. We will not owe workers. It is inhuman. A labourer deserves his or her pay. Public servants will enjoy a good life under our government.

“Teachers’ welfare is a condition for better education results. Enabling environment will be provided for teachers to deliver on teaching and learning outcomes.

AGA governorship candidate said he would employ the natural resources in the state to transform the state and pay the debt being owed, including salaries and pensions.

Kehinde, who also picked a retired secondary school teacher, Mrs Fausat Oluseyi, as his running mate, said he and his running mate placed value on education, saying they did not fail their secondary school examination, unlike some politicians.

He said, “We have gold in Atakumosa East, West up to Ife central, the entire belt of Itagunmodi, Iperindo Ajana, Ilesa are replete with gold. Our gold can be mined after about 100meters digging unlike in South Africa, where you have to dig about 500 meters or Ghana, which is 200 meters.

“If we leverage on the agricultural potential that we have in Osun State, we will not be in poverty, penury and debt. In the days of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, youths were gainfully employed in farm settlements.
