APC Loses Senators To PDP

Fifteen Senators have just defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News reports that the senate president, Bukola Saraki announced the defection of the aggrieved senators on the floor of the senate this morning.

Senators from the All Progressive Congress who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party today on the floor of the Senate include Sen. Lanre Tejouso, Sen. Shaaba Lafiaaji, Sen. Barnabas Gemade, Sen. Dino Melaye. Sen. Ubali Shittu, Sen. Rafiu Ibrahim, Sen. Isa Misau, Sen. Suleiman Hunkuyi, Sen. Monsurat, Sen. Abdullahi Danbaba, Sen. Bayero Nafada, Sen. Suleiman Nazif, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Sen. Abdul-Aziz Nyako, Sen. Soji Akanbi.

With this latest development, PDP is now the majority party in the Senate.
