Femi Falana Says Buhari Has Announced The Winner Of The 1993 Elections

Lagos lawyer, Femi Falana, has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the result of the annulled 1993 elections, by recognizing June 12 as democracy day and honouring the presumed winner of the poll, late Chief Moshood Abiola.

He was giving his remark today at the special national award investiture event held to honour  Late MKO Abiola, Gani Fawehinmi, others who took part in the June 12 Saga.

He also urged the President to direct security chiefs to restore the rights of all Nigerians.

President Buhari had earlier apologized to Nigerians over the annulment of the election by former President Ibrahim Babangida’s administration.

The President  had also conferred posthumous national honours of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) on Abiola.

He also conferred a posthumous honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) on the late foremost human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi.

He decorated Amb. Babagana Kingibe, Abiola’s running mate in the 1993 election, with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
