Bridge Constructed By Gov. Okorocha Collapses In Owerri

The bridge at the Children’s Amusement Park situated at the Ikemba Ojukwu Centre in Owerri, Imo, constructed by Gov. Rochas Okorocha’s administration has collapsed.

Although nobody dead or got injured as a result of the colapse of the bridge, parents whose children visited the place on May 27 during the 2018 Children’s Day Celebration lambasted the state government.

#Offa Robbery: You Must Appear Before Interrogators, Police Tells Saraki

The police today has denied withdrawal of its earlier invitation to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to appear before the Force Intelligence Response Team, in Abuja, to answer questions on his link to suspects the robbery attack in Offa banks.

The police insisted that the claim by the Senate President that its invitation to him had been withdrawn was false, nothing as such happened.

Buhari Declares June 12 As Democracy Day, Confers Posthumous GCFR On Abiola

President Muhammadu Buhari has declared June 12 as the new date to commemorate Democracy Day in Nigeria in honour of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola.

He also conferred Abiola with the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR).

The President in a tweet on his official handle explained why June 12 will replace May 29. He noted that June 12 is a more symbolic day.

President Muhammadu Buhari today said he was reluctant to release the outgoing Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi who is the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the July 14 election.

The president also added that he was not in a hurry to replace the out going minister while charging him to get back to Ekiti state for APC.
