Chief Medical Director, another official kidnapped in Ebonyi.

The Chief Medical Director, CMD, Emeka Onwe Ogah, of the Federal Teaching hospital in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital was on Thursday, kidnapped by some unknown gunmen, alongside one of his administrative officers.

Confirming the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Titus Lamorde said the incident occurred around Ajaokuta, Kogi State while the CMD and the officer, whose name could not be ascertained as at press time were returning from Abuja where they went for a meeting.

Lamorde said the driver of the vehicle was shot while the CMD and his administrative officer were kidnapped in the process.

He said security operatives in both states have swung into action and were already taking steps to rescue the victims alive and arrest the abductors as soon as possible.

Lamorde therefore, urged members of the public to provide useful information to the security operatives that can assist them on the matter.
