Manchester United put on what could be described as their finest performance under Erik Ten Hag as they brushed off Tottenham on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils would have scored more than what the final scoreline showed to demonstrate their superiority at Old Trafford, but Hugo Lloris bravely stopped them.

As United barraged Spurs with 19 shots in the first half alone, the Frenchman miraculously kept the scoreline intact with five outstanding saves.

Two minutes after the break, Ben Davies’ deflection allowed Fred to finally beat Lloris with a shot.

However, it was not anywhere close to what Ten Hag’s men deserved after a convincing performance.

In front of a jubilant Stratford End, Bruno Fernandes curled a deft right-foot finish beyond Lloris’s reach to put extend United’s lead after 69 minutes.

Ten Hag was obviously beaming as he left the Old Trafford field after a victory that embodied everything he wants from his new players.

Manchester United’s victory against Tottenham will keep Ten Hag’s side in fifth place in the Premier league standings, eight points behind leaders Arsenal, while Spurs still remain in third spot.
