Nigerian singers, Yemi Alade and Teni have slammed the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government as students across the country continue to stay at home due to the prolonged Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

On February 14, 2022, ASUU began a one-month warning strike before it was prolonged by two months on March 14 due to unresolved negotiations.

Meanwhile, ASUU and the Buhari-led government have held several meetings, but no agreement has been reached on ending the strike.

Despite the lingering ASUU strike, the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, recently bought the All Progressive Congress presidential nomination form worth N100m, which caused an uproar online.

Lamenting over the ordeal of the Nigerian students, Yemi Alade and Teni, in a post shared on the microblogging platform Twitter, opined that the Buhari Government had failed the citizens.

Yemi Alade wrote: Our government has failed us, students are still at home.

Teni Wrote: ASUU FREE THEM KIDS!!! WTH
