ISWAP Terrorists Attack Nigerian Troops In Borno

The Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents have attacked troops of the Nigerian Army in Doron Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Naija News gathered that the insurgents attacked the troops on Thursday during a clearance operation in the community located on the shores of Lake Chad.

According to a Security expert and Counter-Insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the insurgents wounded some soldiers and completely burnt two Hilux vehicles.

The security expert stated that it had earlier raised an alarm about an impending attack on the military in Kukawa in the state.

Meanwhile, troops of Operation Hadin Kai of the Army in Borno killed five Boko Haram terrorists and recovered 500 rustled rams in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

The troops ambushed and intercepted the terrorists at their possible exit route, engaged them into a fierce gun duel and neutralized five of the gunmen.

It was learned that the troops also recovered about 500 rams and other items they stole from locals and handed them back to the owner as troops escorted them to a safe location.

Consequently, the Theatre Commander’s Special Response Squad were dispatched to chase the terrorists in the Axis of the Cashew plantation in Jere Local Government Area.
