BREAKING: Ganduje Declares Dawn To Dusk Curfew As NNPP Wins Guber Election

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has disclosed that Kano State is peaceful and does not need any extra security outfit apart from those currently recognized by law.

The Governor said this on Wednesday when he hosted the newly-posted Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone One, AIG Sadiq Abubakar Bello who was in his office on a courtesy visit.

The AIG was at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Kano, along with other senior Police officers, including the Commissioner of Police, Kano Command, CP Habu Sani.

“We do not intend to come forth with any security outfit. People who are not trained and who do not even understand how security works. You just cannot give what you like to people in the name of security outfit. Just like that,” he declared.

Ganduje added that what the various existing security outfits need is synergy and support from the government, members of the society and all other stakeholders.

“How can you bring forth something and at the end of the day, the same thing becomes a security threat to the people and the society? So, we don’t want what will turn to become another security challenge.”

“The Hisbah we have in place are working all in synergy with Police. They are being guided by Police and other security agencies, as the case may be. We don’t see them as separate security entity. They, like any other individual, help security agents to work very well,” the governor said.

He then added that “With the good synergy and good working relationship among all our security agencies, coupled with Allah’s Guidance and Blessing, Kano is now the most peaceful state in the federation. Your coming to me shows that you really mean business in securing your area of jurisdiction. That is Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States.”

Governor Ganduje’s declaration is coming amidst recent declaration by a Northern group identified as Coalition of Northern Group (CNG) which unveiled their own version of a regional security set up.

Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, the spokesman of the CNG unveiled the regional security outfit for the North known as “Shege-Ka-Fasa”.

Naija News, however, understands from part of his statement that the group is still seeking the support of the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) for the outfit.

In his speech during the visit, AIG Bello, declared readiness to partner with the government to provide adequate security to the people of the state and environs.

He said “I am ready to work and partner with the government and the good people of Kano state. The Command and Control Centre itself is another testimony to the fact that His Excellency means well for the state and the people of the state.”
