Rafiu Durosinmi Marries Long-Time Partner After Super Eagles Duty
Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi has married his long-time partner, Praise Nwanegbo, after leaving the Super Eagles camp following Nigeria’s international friendly against Poland.
Naija News reports that Rafiu Durosinmi departed the squad in Warsaw shortly after featuring in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with Poland last Wednesday, ending his involvement with the national team during the current international window.
The forward had originally been called up for the Unity Cup matches in London. However, he remained with the squad for the trip to Poland after head coach Eric Chelle was forced to adjust his plans following the withdrawal of key players, including Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
Durosinmi started against Poland and played the opening 45 minutes, earning his third senior cap before returning home for his wedding ceremony.
The occasion meant he was unable to join the rest of the squad as they travelled from Poland to Portugal for the next stage of their preparations.
The striker was among several new faces given opportunities by Chelle during the 2026 Unity Cup in London. He made his senior debut against Zimbabwe at The Valley, coming off the bench in the second half as Nigeria secured a 2-0 win.
His lively display earned him a starting berth in the Unity Cup final against Jamaica.
Partnering captain Terem Moffi in attack, Durosinmi helped drive Nigeria to a dominant 3-0 victory as the Super Eagles retained the Unity Cup title.
