Burna Boy Joins Shakira For 2026 FIFA World Cup Official Song ‘Dai Dai’
Afrobeats star Burna Boy is set to share the global stage with Colombian pop icon Shakira on the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The song, titled Dai Dai, will be released on Thursday, May 14 ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Shakira revealed the collaboration in a teaser shared online, writing: “From Maracanã Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the @FIFAWorldCup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready! ⚽️🐺 @burnaboy.”
The collaboration means Burna Boy becomes the second Nigerian artiste to appear on an official World Cup song, following Davido’s contribution to Hayya Hayya (Better Together) for the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
The 2026 competition will be staged across Canada, Mexico and United States, running from June 11 to July 19. The opening match is expected to take place at Estadio Azteca, while the final is scheduled for MetLife Stadium.
Burna Boy’s involvement adds to his growing football credentials. The singer previously worked on a theme linked to the UEFA Champions League and performed at the 2023 final in Turkey.
It remains unclear whether he and Shakira will perform Dai Dai at the 2026 World Cup opening ceremony or the final next summer.
