‘We Let Nigeria Lay Siege On Us’ – Cameroon Coach Laments After Super Falcons Win
Indomitable Lionesses head coach Mike Ndoumou has admitted his side handed control to Nigeria after watching Cameroon fall 3-1 to the Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday’s international friendly in Yaoundé.
Naija News reports that Cameroon had drawn first blood at the Military Stadium and were hoping to build on their 1-0 win over Nigeria in the first meeting last weekend. Instead, the momentum slipped.
Christiane struck early to hand the Lionesses the lead and briefly lifted the home crowd. Nigeria steadied themselves quickly. Chiwendu Ihezuo levelled matters before Omorinsola Babajide and Michelle Alozie completed the turnaround with clinical finishes.
Cameroon head coach, Mike Ndoumou, admitted his side lost control of the game after their bright start.
“We let Nigeria lay siege on us and play in our half. The goals came very quickly,” he said in his post-match reaction.
Nigeria, led by head coach Justine Madugu, showed sharper movement and greater urgency after the break, pinning Cameroon deep and forcing errors across the back line.
Babajide was at the heart of the comeback. The forward grabbed a goal and set up another in a lively display that highlighted her growing influence in the squad.
“Great reaction from the team today,” the AS Roma Women star wrote on 𝕏.
The Super Falcons will now turn their focus fully to preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
