Fulham Close In On Manchester City Winger Oscar Bobb As Talks Progress

Fulham are stepping up efforts to sign Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb, with negotiations understood to be moving towards a breakthrough.

Sources have told BBC Sport that Marco Silva’s side are close to reaching an agreement for the 22-year-old, who has slipped down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium following City’s January capture of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Bobb’s future has become a talking point in recent days, and City manager Pep Guardiola did little to dampen speculation after his side’s victory over Wolves at the weekend.

“I know there are rumours, I know there are talks,” Guardiola said. “But I don’t know right now.”

When pressed on whether the Norway international is keen on a move away from the club, Guardiola added: “I think so.”

Bobb has made 15 appearances for City in all competitions this season but is yet to find the net. His campaign was disrupted in December when he suffered an injury against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, limping off inside the opening 20 minutes. That match on 17 December remains his most recent outing for the champions.

Despite interest from Borussia Dortmund, Fulham appear to be in pole position, with Silva eager to bolster his attacking options as the west London club push for a strong finish to the season.

The Cottagers have been in impressive form, losing just one of their last seven Premier League matches. Saturday’s 2-1 win over Brighton lifted them to seventh place and strengthened belief around Craven Cottage that European qualification is a realistic target.

A move to Fulham would see Bobb link up with fellow Norwegian Sander Berge, adding a familiar presence as he looks to re-establish momentum after an injury-hit period.

On the international stage, Bobb has enjoyed a more consistent run, featuring six times for Norway this year and playing a part in their qualification for this summer’s World Cup.

The winger’s recent struggles with fitness have tested his progress. He missed almost the entirety of last season after fracturing a bone in his leg during a training session in August 2024, a setback that stalled what had been a promising rise at City.

Fulham’s transfer activity is not limited to Bobb. The club have also lodged a £28 million bid for PSV Eindhoven forward Ricardo Pepi, underlining Silva’s determination to add firepower and depth as the campaign reaches its decisive stages.
