FG Sends Message To Super Eagles Ahead Of Morocco Clash

As Nigeria’s Super Eagles prepare for their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final clash with Morocco, the Federal Government has thrown its full support behind the team, urging them to play with confidence, unity and national pride.

Naija News reports that the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, delivered the message on Wednesday, urging the team ahead of the crucial encounter in Rabat, Morocco.

Idris praised the team’s performances so far, highlighting their discipline, courage and belief throughout the tournament.

He said, “As you prepare to face Morocco in the AFCON semi-finals, I want you to know that the whole of Nigeria stands firmly with you.

“You have been here before; you know what it takes to win at this level.”

Referencing Nigeria’s history at the AFCON, Idris reminded the players that previous successes were born from teamwork, resilience and belief.

“Those victories were not accidents; they came from teamwork, confidence, and a fighting spirit, and you have shown that same spirit in this tournament,” he noted.

The minister told the players that they carry more than just the national flag, they carry the hopes of an entire nation.

Idris further stated, “As you step onto the pitch, remember that you are not alone; you carry the hopes of millions of Nigerians.”

He urged the squad to remain focused and united while playing with the heart of champions.

“Stay focused, trust one another, and give your best from the first whistle to the last,” he advised.

Idris expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to reach the final and lift the trophy.

He said, “You have earned your place at the semi-final stage and possess the quality to go further in the competition.

“Tonight, go out there and write another proud chapter in our football story. Play with heart, play with pride, play for Nigeria.”

The Super Eagles are set to face Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat at 9pm Nigerian time on Wednesday, with a place in the AFCON final on the line.
